TEXAS TECH VS GONZAGA

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas – Jordyn Merritt scored a team-high 14 points, Jasmin Shavers added 12, and Bailey Maupin added 10 to lead the Texas Tech Lady Raiders (7-1) to a 67-49 win over Gonzaga (4-4) in the day two finale at the 2024 Paradise Jam. 

The Lady Raiders raced out to a 12-point (20-8) first-quarter lead before the Zags came charging back, closing the quarter on a 7-0 run to pull to within five (20-15) at the quarter break. Neither offense got much going in the second quarter, as Texas Tech outscored Gonzaga 6-5 in the frame to take a 26-20 lead into halftime.

Texas Tech’s offense came alive in the third quarter, and the Lady Raiders extended their lead to 17 (48-31) entering the fourth. 

Texas Tech returns to action Saturday in the 6:30 p.m. game against Missouri State, while Gonzaga closes the 2024 Paradise Jam with a 9 p.m. game against Florida State.
