LIBERTY VS LOUISIANA
CHARLOTTE AMALIE, St. Thomas – A record-setting offensive effort by the Liberty Flames (5-1) resulted in Liberty setting a new Paradise Jam single-game shooting percentage record, as the Flames rolled to an 89-69 win over Louisiana (1-4) on the opening night of the Paradise Jam.
With a .673 shooting percentage, Liberty eclipsed the previous record of .648 set by Northern Iowa in 2009.
With the win, Liberty advances to face the winner of the George Washington/Kansas State matchup on Sunday, November 24 at 9 p.m., while Louisiana will face the losing team from that contest at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Kaden Metheny led Liberty with 20 points overall, while Isiah Ihnen, Taelon Peter, and Owen Aquino added 12 points apiece. Colin Porter rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points. An early run in the opening half gave the Flames an early double-figure lead and the Ragin’ Cajuns would not get closer than ten points the rest of the way, with Liberty stretching its lead to as many as 24 points late in the second half.
